CONSTRUCTION OF FRENCH BROAD PADDLE TRAIL WELL UNDERWAY
This winter, volunteers will be putting the finishing touches on the first stage of the French Broad River paddle trail. When it’s completed, paddlers will be able to take a seven-night trip from the headwaters in Transylvania County all the way north to the Tennessee state line. French Broad Riverkeeper Hartwell Carson took Duncan McFadyen down a section of the river in Henderson county that runs by one of the campsites.
Volunteers from AmeriCorps help clear the first campsite completed on the trail, in Henderson County near Etowah.
