Convention Coverage on WCQS
WCQS will carry special coverage of the Republican National Convention August 27 - 30 and the Democratic National Convention September 4 - 6.
The Republican National Convention, which is being held in Tampa Bay, Florida, will begin August 27th and conclude August 30th. WCQS will begin coverage each night at 7 with On Point with Tom Ashbrook and and continue with special coverage from NPR each night at 8.
The Democratic National Convention, which is being held in Charlotte, NC, will begin September 4th and conclude September 6th. WCQS will begin coverage each night at 7 with On Point with Tom Ashbrook and continue at with special coverage from NPR each night at 8.
Jennifer Ludden will host NPR's coverage from NPR headquarters in Washington, DC. The broadcast will include selected podium speeches; interview with newsmakers and analysis from NPR's Senior Washington Editor, Ron Elving and Political Correspondent, Mara Liasson, as well as as E.J. Dionne of The Washington Post and Matt Continetti of the Washington Free Beacon. NPR will also have two reporters on the floor at each convention; Debbie Elliott and Jeff Brady at the Republican National Convention and Debbie Elliott and Sonari Glinton at the Democratic National Convention. Reporters will talk to delegates and news makers and provide perspective from each convention.
