This week From the Top is in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for a show featuring a 17-year-old tuba player and a duo from the Percussion Scholarship Group in Chicago. You'll also hear from two teenage string players.
10 pm: JAZZ SHACK
One of the first modern jazz pianists was born in Pennsylvania in 1931. Sonny Clark was very active in the NYC and LA studios by his early twenties. We’ll begin tonight with some Verve sides he made with the bebop influenced clarinestist Buddy de Franco in 1954. Also scheduled are sides from tenor John Coltrane and vocalist Rachael Price.

12 pm: THE SPLENDID TABLE
This week on the Splendid Table, Nigella Lawson joins us with her new book “Nigellissima, Easy Italian-Inspired Recipes” and we meet up with Joe Warwick, who compiled a guide of chef favorite restaurants - worldwide. His book is “Where Chefs Eat”.
4 pm: THIS AMERICAN LIFE – “Valentine’s Day”
Love makes us do crazy things, but usually not this crazy. This week for Valentine's Day we have stories of people going to extremes to find and pursue their one true love.
6 pm: A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION
Coming to you this week from The Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota, it's a live broadcast performance of A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. With special guests, Buddhist-inspired folk musician Ellis, and men's choir Cantus. Plus, the Royal Academy of Radio Actors, Tim Russell, Sue Scott, Lindsay Marcy, and Fred Newman, guitar man Dean Magraw sits in with The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and the latest News from Lake Wobegon.

We experience the civil rights veteran Vincent Harding. He has a long lens of wisdom on contemporary divisions and confusions.
